Q: Are your diffs locked?

A: Why yes they are, they're open diffs!

Today was allot of fun. We ran speed stages (time only) for the first time and they are allot of fun. We ran the stage like normal first. Then we ran the same stage with no penalties other than gate markers to keep everyone along the same lines. We didn't apply the speed stages to the results, but will in the future. I was thinking of dividing the time in seconds by 10, and that is the drivers score for the speed stage. We learned that speed stages are more fun on easy to medium stages. Speed stages don't work well on difficult stages.

Stage 1:
Kevinlongisland........5
Roktoy......................9
AZsavage ................18
Grover (2.2 size).....38
Rick..........................27
Minitrucker...............47
Nick.........................103

Stage 1 (Speed Stage, Minutes:Seconds):
Kevinlongisland........0:35
Roktoy......................0:59
AZsavage .................DNF
Grover (2.2 size).....1:39
Rick..........................3:57
Minitrucker...............1:08
Nick..........................DNF

Stage 2:
Kevinlongisland........10
Roktoy......................56
AZsavage.................51
Grover (2.2 size).....65
Rick..........................77
Minitrucker...............84
Nick.........................195

Stage 2 (Speed Stage/Not completed by all):
Kevinlongisland
Roktoy......................4:25
AZsavage
Grover (2.2 size).....5:37
Rick
Minitrucker
Nick

Overall Scores:
Kevinlongisland........15
Roktoy......................65
AZsavage .................69
Grover (2.2 size).....103
Rick..........................104
Minitrucker...............131
Nick..........................298

for more clearance, especially when running 2.2 size tires. it seams to work well. we can always look forward to something new from grover when he comes out.

Looks like everyone had fun, sorry I missed it. I was busy slaving away in the workshop. I wish I could show some pics, but I promised myself that I wouldn't until it's COMPLETELY finished. (it's lacking some minor things, but they'll have to be ordered) By the way, who's Rick and Nick, and which ones were there rigs?

rick is grovers dad. he was driving the red/white bronco bodied truck with the moabs. Nick was the guy with the short wheelbase twin force. he was also there last time but his diff was open (not like grovers) and could not negotiate the stages.

good point, not many!!!!!!! but most of the parks in the area have some type of little lake with streams that feed them. crawling through the waterfalls would be fun, but not sure about getting everything wet and having to rip everything apart after i crawl.

rich tried out some lst's a couple weekends ago and they didn't perform very well. but that was on some scattered landscaping rocks in a park. not sure how they would perform on the mountain.

Yeah were all saying, "See you Oregon guys we can do it too". HEHEH. We are still not to comfortable with the water thing either. If you picked the right line though it only got as deep as your rim... And if you got into the deeper stuff it only was up to the axles.
