Default Max Degree of slope?

Could anyone tell me what they have found to be the max amount of slope on a comp course? Or an average amount of slope that makes a course challenging, but not over the top hard?

Thanks

Best way to find out is to get your rig and build a high traction slope (sandpaper on wood) and drive it Most natural obstacles are not straight inclines so the max angle changes when a rig can hook one of the front tires on something

The length of the slope does a lot for crawlability. A short steep face is crawlable with wheel speed to shoot up the rock. A 4 foot face of the same angle may be impassable.

Default Reason for question.

I'm working with 8' long x 4' wide panels. All will be made up with different rock formations on the faces. The panels will be adjustable, so I'm wondering what the max might be for a starting point, or finishing point, all depends on which way I can start working from.

Thanks for your input guys. I appreciate it.

Default 45 degree to much?

With the base and back structure being equal, that would make it a 45 degree angle. Would that be to much for max slope, no matter what type of rock face is on it?

Jax what the rambuller says is very true. You however don't have to necessarily have to stop at 45* angle you should be able to adjust beyond that and hopefully you'll be able to adjust it less than 45* as well. Your design needs to have adjustably.

Good points Stormin. The very reason why I'm asking these questions is for adjustability. Does anyone on here have Sketchup. I would love to send you guys a file of what I'm working on so you can get a better idea as to why I'm asking.

Thanks so much for your experienced input.

Almost sounds like you don't own a crawler. Mine will go up what seems like 70*-75*

most crawlers from what ive seen will max out at about 63-65* or so. thats very low slung comp specific rigs. i havent seen any go past 65 though.

That sounds more reasonable. But I'll grab my angle finder and check some of the climbs next time we crawl.
