Default 1.9 and 2.2 first build....Any other dual size running rigs out there?

So I have been a long time lurker and occasionally finding time to get the build moving. After many years (yes it is just as painful to write as it is to read, YEARS) of ideas, changes, new parts, problems with new parts, minimal experience with custom fab or tools, etc... the project is finally a completed roller. I still have a long winter of styrene and body work which I am learning as I go.

This is a Bruiser that I have had since '92 and have always liked the scale aspect of RC. I am sure many of you shared my experiences in the 80s with wanting a 3speed Tamiya. I had this very crudely 4 linked with minimal changes to the original set up in 2002-2003. It hasn't run since until the other day.

Along the build line I decided I wanted to be able to run 1.9 and 2.2 for more versatility but keeping it as scale as I can. I think I have found a good set up for both.

-T Rex 60 aluminum axles
-Create a Crawler Rippers and Hummer 5 bolt 1.9
-RC4WD 2.2 Narrow bead locks
-Rc4WD R2 single speed tranny
-Rooster crawler
-55 turn Novak

I know that once the rear is cut to accept the 2.2s without major rubbing it will detract from the scale look and minimize the tuck appearance with the 1.9s but aside from that I think it can go either way pretty nicely.

Please post some pics if you have a rig that runs both 1.9 and 2.2....

Thanks for any comments!

looks good... and so what, yea hacked a bruiser body, if it was already messed up...more power to yea. My kid is building a 1.9 rig using a bruiser cab manufactured in 92 says that on the inside of the hood...but we bought a lihux bed. he doesn't plan to cut it up yet...my hilux is also a 1.9 but i dovetailed the front and rear end and bobbed the back...

don't sweat what other guys tell yea, just do what yea wanna do...

Thanks Biteme! I got a little further in the last couple of days with the dropped bed. A little miscalculation and a little tire rub on the bed but gonna run with it....
