I am looking to get into a scale rig around the first of the year. Where is the best place to start?

I would wait and see wat the Sx-10 has to offer when it is released. If not, can't go wrong with the X-Trail chassis.

Personally I say wait. If you are doing it after the first of the year you are in the time frame for the SX-10. Save your pennies and be one of the first.
