axial TR bumper modification questoin

Does anybody think it would be possible to change the angles of the two sides of the axial TR bumper? I am trying to use one on my high lift and where it all fits up, it leaves too much space between the bumper and grill. I was thinking about cutting some pie sections out of the top and bottom of the bumper and flexing it back, then gluing it together with a little extra stiffeners, but does anybody have any other thoughts? I am not so worried about the top tubes, could cut them off, or do something similar.

I have made some metal bumpers before, but really like the look of this one and want to try and make it match up. I don't have a picture of what I am talking about at the moment, but will try and get one tomorrow.
