| grease your axles
Last night I decided I didn't want rust in my new axial axles. No pictures, but it was simple. I started with a small drill bit I had that fit 2 small and short set screws. I drilled out the diff housing on the shallow side (not where the ring gear rides) I made sure that the hole, and the set screw were large enough to get my needle grease gun in. I pumped it full, and threaded the set screw in. Now it looks like I have a fill plug in the axles, and its functional. It took all of 5 min to do 2 axles including putting waterproof grease in the small grease gun. I figure it will be a mess when I take it apart, but that is better than having mud and water in there scoring up and rusting my parts. Winter time I'll flush the grease and put some white lithium in because the grease is so thick that when it gets cold the axle woln't want to turn. |

I did that with my Losi axles...will most likely do that to the Axials also. I just used a small button head...would be nice to find some black ones: |
