Default Anyone using a Watt's linkage?

I noticed some scaler setups use a panhard bar.

Since those are sometimes used, I also wondered if anyone has done a Watt's linkage setup on their scaler? Supposed to be an improvement over the panhard setup. Of course we all know what works in real world 1:1 vehicles doesn't necessarily mean it will work in a scaled down RC. So that's why I ask.

Any input is appreciated! I did a search but didn't find anything, so if there is already a thread about this I apologize.

its possible but unlike the 1:1 axles, ours doesnt have the most amount room in the diff area to mount a screw in the middle, you should try it out and tell us about it, it would be different

What I thought about was drilling a hole in the center of the pumpkin area on my rear scx10 axle, countersinking it from the inside, and putting a M3 flathead screw exiting the diff case. Secure it with a thin nut, then put a spacer on the screw. The middle link could use the spacer as the pivot point, or you could add a small bearing/bushing.

I thought about using a pivot ball, but the setup needs to stay parallel to the axle, and the pivot ball would allow motion in other directions.

The right side of the links mount point is kinda low. I wonder if it would screw up the geometry to make the link a little longer and have it mount at the same height as the other side.

I was thinking that too. Bringing the mounting point that low on the one side could cause some ground clearance issues.

I want to say that for it to work properly both links have to be the same length, but not really sure.

Well, that diagram doesn't look too technical, just giving the gist. I would guess if the vertical bar in the link were pinned in the middle to the diff cover...
Eh, yeah thinking about it more as the entire axle moves up and down that would probably move off center or bind having 1 longer.

Looks like the center stays centered through about half of its range of travel:

I wonder if L1 and L3 were longer would it stay centered longer??
