| How do you guys prefer to mount your hard bodies?
I've got a few ideas up my sleeve on how I want to mount my jeep hard body, But I figured I would see how most of you guys prefer to do it. I've searched threads, but haven't seen a lot of info on how the bodies are actually mounted. I've seen magnets in the past, and of course screws. Pics would be great if you got em. Thanks!!! |

To locate: posts from underside of body, into or between delrin details on chassis. To hold: Velcro on plastic plates I stand off of body and/or chassis. |

Hidden body posts. I dunno the "correct" name for these pieces but they came in a bag with my Dingo TR, there's 2 more of them out on the rear of the frame: This is the mount for if you use an SUV body, just trimmed it down and dremeled it a bit to fit, then drilled a couple holes to screw it to the body: And just regular body posts held from the inside of floor with body clips, foam pieces are there just to make a tighter fit: I've rolled this thing many times and it's held up great. |

I prefer to have Velcro hold the body in place, but I also incorporate some sort of locating device so the body is assured to go in the same place each time it's re-installed.

Velcro, I had photos, but cant find them. Like everyone says, a couple of locator pins, and some velcro. Last edited by JesterSpec; 06-01-2011 at 07:08 PM. |

This is what i came up with for my latest build. Velcro in the front. And for the rear i just added a piece of steel to the sliders, added some syrene to the bottom of the body and use a screw on each side to mount. I dont know how durable it will be yet but my body always mounts in the same spot now. I also dont have any unsightly screws showing on the outside of the body. I like some kinda of hard mount with the velcro because I feel that the body moves to much with just velcro. Im hoping that if the mounts fail it will just be the styrene which i can replace easily and not the body itself. May take a couple more minutes in the field to change a battery but I dont really worry bout that. Anyways its what i came up with and im sticking to it for now |

I like to build mine into the sliders. I always incorporate some type of mount on them all be it flat stock or tube sliders. |
