you could start with a SCX10 chassis and build from there.

Wheely king. Motor sits up high and out of the way. Or read the Axle questions for mud truck posts. Good ideas in there....

Most important? Waterproofing everything....except the motor. They are pretty much waterproof on there own.

i run axial drivetrain, velenium motor and mamba max esc. i have the traxxas rx box for my rx and bec, small radio shack task box for the mamba max, battery and a waterproof servo. seems to work real well. just dielectric grease your battery conection and go!

You may also want to pack the axle housings with grease to help keep moisture out of the bearings and diffs. Coating the PC board on the speed control with liquid electrical tape and using some sort of waterproof container are two good ways of preventing moisture damage. Making some inner fenders for the body will help keep some of the big chunks out of the truck as well. WD40 is your friend too, spray the truck off after each run and coat the chassis with WD and it will help prevent rust in the fasteners and bearings. Alternatively, you can replace your fasteners with stainless steel ones like i have on my SCX10 and not have to worry about it |
