if you want something that takes a beating & with a large amount of aftermaket parts take a look at the AXIAL SCX10. plus they have great customer support. also look thru some of the rig specific threads on here and see what other people are running.

What do you currently have and what do conditions/terrain do you drive in.

You can't go wrong with an Axial Honcho or Dingo. Well proven, the most aftermarket parts support, and unlimited customization possibilities.

What about the Tamiya CC-01? That's the direction I'm going for a scaler. Check out the CC-01/XC section and watch some videos. Those things are rather impressive with a minimum amount of upgrades.

I would have said a SCX10 too but the CC-01 is a good option if you're wanting to build a kit, make some mods & keep the entire project under $300. The chassis isn't scale but they are a lot of bang for the buck, for $160, the kit comes with motor, ESC & light unit:

That leaves $140 to play around with. There's a Unimog & Bronco too but the land cruiser is the cheapest.

SCX10 would be my first choice for a budget scale crawler but it might be difficult to keep the whole thing under $300 unless you went RTR. I prefer kits but RPP has the RTR for under 300 & add some small item & get free shipping:

Save a few more bucks and pick up a wraith then. It will do what your honcho won't and vice versa.

I agree! The Wraith is definitely the best bang for the buck.

ive decided to buy the rc4wd trail stomper. i got an extra bit of cash, so i might buy some pitbull 1.9 rock beasts. the only problem is that i noticed that the wheels on the trail stomper are 1.55's. will the tires still fit?if i dont get the tires, i will probably get the 90mm dual spring shocks..... the truck is out of stock for now. if it doesn't come in soon, i am going to get the wraith.

Yea! Especially if you got a truck with metal work on it. They are not too pricey though

You'll need some 1.9 wheels for the Pitbulls, they won't fit on 1.55's unless you want to cut the sidewalls out and glue 1.55's on instead.
