Theo old Kyosho Twin Force had a similar setup, work ok for the truck, but not really scale or precise for crawling. Sounds like a lot of unneaded stuff to try and cram on a axle? I have use a modded frame mounted steering bellcrank off a Tamiya Hilift. Mimic a real steering box better than a servo hanging off the front of the frame.

i thought bout doing that with my clod build, but room was an issue where i wanted to mount the servo....but i was thinking of making an extention with some alum plate off the top of knuckle to move it forward and backwards with a rod from servo mounted back in the chassis....i think it would work good ........bob

I like the way you did this. The long steering arm. Zero or no bump steer.

I did the same type steering on my wreckluse (mean green) over a year ago, the rig has been to acouple different owners sence and its still working flawless! No bumpsteer and lots of steering due to offset cantilever arm. I mounted servo under the driver seat.

I guess its ok if you need the room under the hood. I do like the weight closer to the center of the skid also..

I ran into this old thread while looking for ideas and I think some interesting ideas had been posted there, so here is my setup.
The servo is mounted right in front of the transmission, between the upper links.
It was a pain to figure out and took a good amount of time to build, but I'm satisfied of it
It does suffer from minor bump steer.

3 links and a panhard would get rid of the bump steer, but I didn't want one
