| What Holmes motor are powering your scaler?
Well I've been a HH fan for a Long time. I've had Torquemaster 35t and a 7t puller. The customer service is awesome and the ship is quick. Im always catching myself digging through search pages trying to find specific weights and performance values for certain HH motors. So what I'm looking for here is simple. Hopefully it will be a data base for all to use when researching scaler motors from HH. 1. What's your scaler type and weight 2. What HH motor do you have and gearing and battery set up and ESC 3. How's the temps 4. What's your overall performance opinion 5. Wheel speed and torque evaluation Thanks guys! I'll start: 1. class 3 and about 9.5# 2. cobalt 7t, 54/9 32p, 3s, br-xl HH 3. Runs a bit warm in the summer heat. Winter it's perfect. Taking it down to 2s would help the summer temps I think 4. The puller is a big ball of controllable horsepower. Very reliable and never let me down. Always had the power on demand. Its a bit louder than most. 5. Wheels speed is awesome and has awesome low end torque. I wished it could be a lil smoother on very creepy situations |

I've owned just about every style of motor he has sold over the past 4 years, my favorite one was the Cobolt 500, that little motor would literally melt the gears inside of a R2HD trans! I pretty much use 35T Torque Masters now. they seems to be a good 'do all' motor.

Cobalt puller 7t with 20t pinion and stock axial spur, runs pretty cold, have to weigh the rig when i get home but prob around 6lbs. Basically feels like a big block coming from a stock axial motor, it is amazing the low speed torque and control it has as well as insane wheel speed.

7t puller in my class 3 till I tore it apart. Now I'm running the puller in my shorty yota. I think its around 7 lbs. I get around 40 min off of a 1350 mah battery. Its ran on 3 cell, and I don't push it to hard, it stays moderate with temps. |
