Sometimes whilst searching you must search for one thing at a time and compare the results yourself, not all answers will be in the same place spoon fed to you. After 30 seconds or so of searching for you I found this: D35 is compatible with D40 accessories, except XVD axle and axle shaft. So from that we can make a decent educated guess that it seems to be the width thats the only difference, unless the knucks require different size bearings. Also Katan is a member on this forum, he designed the axles, pm him. Accept my spoon into your mouth |

yeah ya will have answers like that instead of what your looking for .... #1 other then what you see in width, thinking maybe color....maybe the silver are for hi lift, that's the only thing i see different in the words.... #2 i think any axle can be clocked if ya want to make blocks that will raise the axle pinion shaft....if your talking bout the C hubs then i think only axial brand can be clocked.... #3 leaf's and less flex the a link set up, 3 or 4 link will depend on what you have room for or want really....3 link most use a panard/track bar type set up with a 3 link.... hope those answers helped a bit .........bob .... |

Ya, I already shot Katan a message on his visitor board. I am also looking for peoples personal opinion on all the items posted. I found 3 posts on the axles that compare before I posted this add, but none of them realy answered my questions. So, thats when I decided to post the threa. But that aside, the thread is here, and if i wanted somthing other than what i posted, i would have asked. So please ladies and gentalmen, no more BS would be appreciated as i am looking to get a build started.

Thanks BOB, I appreciate the info, I just get sick of other people being smart asses, I did find some info on the questions i asked, but what people don't realize(or dont bother to think about and just spout off without thinking), I like more current info, because systems change and more current and up to date ways are discovered.

The D40 axle is basically the same as a High Lift axle with a different (better) casing. So you can actually use Tamiya parts in the casing (shafts, stub axle, Diffs etc...) . It is a direct replacement for a High Lift axle and you can run an open diff in it if you want. The D35 is basically a narower version of the D40. The front axle pumpkin is offset and the diff cover is also different. As it is narrower you cant use Tamiya High Lift or TLT shafts as replacements. The Tamiya diff can still be fitted though. BTW I turned off PMs for a reason, if you want to ask a question mail rcrock@rc4wd.com Last edited by Katan; 02-10-2012 at 08:14 AM. |
