Chevy SS Silverado ?'s

I bought one of the SS bodies years ago in hopes of building a scaler out of it but never did much with it. I tried it on my WK and my SCX10 and both are too wide. The clod is too wide too, the only axles i found that would work were a set of Trinity Next mini truggy axles that i converted to solid axles and my 1/16 nylint axles (old school huh?). The Trinity's were junk, never even got to drive them as a truggy much less a scaler. The nylint's lasted about three minutes before breaking the teeth in both high and low range. My question is, what axles suit the width of this body? MRC's? CC01's or XC's? I have even thought of using a TA02 or similar shaft drive touring car as a base with a center transmission for a class 1 type rig. The cheaper the better right now since money's tight. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Check out rc4wd. The nylints were 1/18th scale so you might check out the 1/18th scale micro T-Rexs or the mini44s they are for 1/12th - 1/16th scale builds they have the measurements for both on their site. Hope this helps"thumbsup"

mrc or tlt axles work great, as does the cc-01 chassis.

X2, check out RC4WD for smaller scale, scaler axles.

On the cheap, pickup some TLTs. You can reduce the width of them by an inch or so easy way by trimming the cases and using two short shafts in them.
Or follow the many ways here to get any width:

I would love to find a great deal on a set of TLT's. They seem pretty easy to modify if need be and for what i am wanting to do with the truck they should hold up well. The RC4wd's look amazing and if the budget allows later on i may pick up a set. Thanks for the info guys, I'm glad i have several feasible options to try.

Re: Chevy SS Silverado ?'s

Those rigs look awesome! I think I'm going to source a set of TLT's for my SS build. It will also be my first attempt at a drop bed also. I'm a little nervous as i have never messed with styrene before. If i was going for a bigger look like 2.2's or something of that nature i would just use the axials that i have but i want the front and rears to tuck so i think the TLT's will be the best way to go. Any good sources to find used TLT's cheap? Ebay seemed pretty steep that last time i checked o them (been a while though) and i don't want to sink a ton of money in this thing. Any tips for doing a drop bed? Ive looked at several tutorials and build threads and think i have a decent grasp on what i am going to do but i am not adversed to learning something new!

I found mine on clearance at wally world in 2007. They are a little difficult to find now but not impossible. One pops up on ebay every so often.
