Default SCX10/Creeper Scaler FJ40 "The Grinch" (Pic Heavy)

I received an SCX10 chassis, 55T Novak, RC4WD Gear Reduction Transmission and some Creeper axles yesterday. I scavenged from a couple of my busted RC's. Here is the progress that I made.

Started with this mess...

The links were definitely too long so I started to make my own. It's actually pretty easy.

The driveshafts were the most difficult piece to fit and make work right. I will probably redo the rear one, but for now I just limited the shocks so it wont pop off.

Then there was a roller...

Testing the flex, I was surprised how much it had...

I scavenged some body mount posts from my cheap exceed rally monster and got the lid attached pretty firmly.

Took the dremel to the front axle housing.

I definitely need a new paint job now.

Wheels and bumper painted.

Bumper mounted

The venom knuckles are massive so to fit 1.9's that I plan on getting I will have to swap to an axial knuckle if they will fit. They look like they should. anyways that what I have done so far. I plan on tweaking it here and there and possibly adding an interior and spare tire rack. Feel free to post up any suggestions.

You know that you have the frame backwards right?....Basically the front that you have set is actually the back of the frame.

I didn't know that. I don't think it will hurt anything will it? It makes the front end look just like my 1:1. The bumper sits way out front.

You can just flip it around and have the front stick out though....Part of the front is straight. I realize the bumpers stick out on the real thing, but not as much as is portrayed as you have.

I like what you did for the wheels. I run the same wheel and tire combo on my bronco and love them. Looks like its coming along pretty nicely, look forward to seeing more.

Here is my 1:1. I want to build a trailer too, what are you guys using to build trailers? Also as stated above I'm runing a 55 Turn Novak with the RC4WD Gear Reduction Transmission. It has lots of torque but not a whole lot of speed. What motor do you guys recommend for that transmission? I have a 12 Turn Nitronite brushed, a Velinion brushless, and another 3000 kv bushless and a cheesy maxstone 10 27 turn brushed. would any of those bring the wheelspeed up to scale?

I started my interior. It could be better but I don't think it's too bad for my first try.

The pretty much finished interior. I know it's kind of jerry rigged but it didnt cost me anything.

Finished painting the body. Scuffed the crap out of it and painted the outside.

UPDATE: I decided to go with 2.2's to clear the knuckles on the creeper axles. So I just ordered some Proline 8 Shooter Beadlocks and RC4WD Rock Loxs. Pics when they arrive. Hopefully by Saturday.

I figured I need the clearance, plus I can always buy smaller ones. I also waterproofed everything lastnight. The Grinch will be ready for whatever the hiking trails can throw at him.

Brazed up a cage. This was my first time building with brake line and brazing. It turned out ok.

Tire Carrier

More Photos once I get my new wheels and tires mounted up.
