| delrin leafs
I was wondering what delrin leafs were like vs rc4wd leafs? I'm undecided on what to get. I was going to get the red springs, but came across these delrin leafs. Are they maybe too soft? Thanks |

I dont have experience with either but, I heard the red leafs were ultra soft / too soft. I would imagine the delrin leafs to be pretty soft as well. Curious, What truck are you working on? |

Ok. Yeah guess I should of added what i'm working on. Ive got a trail stomper, not doing crazy crawling with it but wouldn't mind the extra flex.

Lots of axle wrap with the delrin leafs. I was running the rc4wd brusieruptor and couldnt get them to work like metal leafs.

Was curious about durability also. If they hold up as good add metal leafs.

im currently working on a leafed project now and i did some research here and there and ive concluded the red rc4wd leafs would be a better bet((as if thety are too soft for you you can use a helper)) also heard thoes delrin wear out,get beat up easy and are not as soft my rigs also t finder chassid but i was reasearching for my needs((hardcore off roar rocks sand mud water,,binding)) if your going just trailing im sure the delrin will last |

it all depends how hard you are on it, they can be fine but will break easier than your stock leafs; i personally run stock leafs with usually the chino mod and let them break in and they are much softer after a while. the reds were nice for a little while till they break from being so soft

Wow. Thanks benoj. I believe I may have to try that first before buying red leafs. Save some money for other items. |

(rather than starting a new thread) I was wondering if anyone has made homemade leaf springs, and out of what?

I tried running metal leafs and ended up not liking them personaly. I started running Tcs delrin leafs untill they broke and then started cutting my own out of 1/4" sheet delrin. Here's a link to my old Toyota build that they were on. I ended up liking the delrin alot more than metal because if I broke a link I could make another in 10 or 15 minutes and I could make them any length or shape. ctrwannabe's Toyota build. I also made some delrin leafs for my unfinished 6x build, the rears pivot more than they flex but I made them that way for a reason. Link. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2-2-s...rmy-truck.html So for me personaly I will most likely only use delrin on any future builds because it's easy to make them, cheep ( if you already have the delrin) and I can cut them any length to fit or thickness to adjust flex. |

And ctr very nice build. I'm still questionable on the delrin, but your explanation and pointers on easeof making your own when you want is kind of nice and creative.
