i did that by cutting out a section of the housing between the shock/link mounts. i removed about half the width from that spot, meaning that when its back together you can only install the link or the shock in the original location. the outside of the tab makes for a decent shock location. the steel part of the axle was narrowed by cutting it near the center, removing the same amount of width as the housing, then i sleeved the axle with brake line and tack welded it back together. it worked out pretty good, i just never found the right stuff to glue the housing back together- everything i tried kept cracking. i also ran some narrow hexes on it. sorry, no pics of the process though.

i never tried that, i do body work for a living so i tried some of the stuff we use for bumper repair etc. i'm sure there is something that will glue that plastic back together the right way though-just have to find it. i used the cut up axles on my truck for a while and kept fixing the cracks in them, i eventually went a different way with it and swapped axles. i did save the axles though so please chime in and let me know what works well on them. i'm sure i'll use them on a future build!
