Default JCon's Jeep

Well here is the start of my project.

Not much info ATM, Will be using GCM CrossCanyon Chassis, SCX10 Axles. Will post more as i get it.
First attempt at painting this up will be doing touchups soon.

Used a stone texture paint on the interior to give it a fabric type look. up close doesnt look Gr8. but from a lil distance, looks good.

Well you have a good start JCon. Sounds like you have a good parts list. One suggestion, when you down load your next set of photos, try down sizing to them somewhere around 640 pixels. It will make it eaiser for us to view them. Also, I double space between photos.

Right now i have no links. Well i do have some random axial ones.
What i think ill do is use some all-thread "Threaded Rod" Atleast for the first go.

P.S. Got pics fixed up.

Looking at these for wheels

Wheels 1.9 | LUX - 1.9 BCCD Beadlock 2x Wheels | RCmodelex - specialized for RC rock crawling, trial and expeditions

and these for tires

Mickey Thompson 1.9 Baja Claw TTC Scale Tires (pair)

Thoughts or Comments?

Much better! I think alot guys start with the all-thread anyway. It gives you a good starting point when you do need to order or make your links.

Yes i read u had some probs there robbo. That sucks a bit.
I'm also going Allthread route first, because i think i want to experiment with some slight bending in the links.

Axles/Shafts/Transmission are in the mail.
getting A Flysky GT3C N Hackin' it down the road for more channels.
Picking up an ESC/Servo From LHS

tires/wheels as i mentioned i think. Shocks i'm thinking powerstroke scalers lil on the expensive side though.

Everything is mocked up.
The links i have currently make the wheelbase too small. but work for testing, I will run to hardware store soon pick up some Rod and some Revo red ends nmake some the right length, then work on mounting the body
i will use my rs10 stock wheels and shocks for the mock up.

After assembling everything i realize i need someof the correct size screws for my links and shocks. temp with left over 2mm screws ;)

Can't wait!!

Well Got It to the roller point.

First pic is mock up using random parts.
Rest will show the mock up using 2.2's chisel n panther's, Good look but they r too big i think.
Using RS10 stock Shocks for now.
Need to adjust the links just a little bit, Rear Shorten a little. Front maybe shorten a couple mm if any.

So here is the current progress.

More to come.

Suggestions for shocks? Still leaning towards the Proline 6060-00 's

also kings King Off-Road Dual Spring Shocks (90mm Medium OD)

90mm is good my king 100mm is to much. I installed stops on the shaft helps some. Also had to stiffen up the front and soften the rear with different rate springs. Front motor setup is inherently front heavy but, sure crawls and climbs
