| Im Working On A Working Wrecker Any Ideas?
I need some suggestions on a working wrecker boom. Ive got different ideas on how to work it, servo, maybe a worm drive or hydralic. Im using a clod based chassis. Ive thought about making a pneumatic system, using a 4inch shock, drilling and tapping it then pumping either air or oil to get my lift action. Im thinking also possibly of a stinger? Ive searched for some threads but havent came up with anything yet. Any help would be great. Thanks, Leddpipe |

for R/C planes they use robart pneumatic struts. you can get them in a couple of different lengths. it had a valve to start and stop air flow and and air tank. it might be a lot to hide. JIA had hydralic steering on one of his scorpion crawler i believe. you might want to search for that thread. just a couple of ideas. good luck and take lots of build pics.

You don't want a stinger unless it's going to be a on road wrecker, but if you want an off road wrecker it would just get in the way.

Ill get some pics up. Ive got the boom built and mounted and playing around with ideas on how to raise and lower it. Im using a hitech servo right now, but Id rather have something more realistic. Thanks for the input |
