Default Looneybins Pulling Sled

So i started something i always wanted to build today. I can almost garruntee ill never use it and i definitely dont need it but its just one of those "bucket list" things. Been contemplating it for a while and had some material squirreled away for the right time. It is all 1/4" - 3/8" aluminum at this point and 3' long. Main chassis is 3" c channel. Still have to find a weight box and sort out the rollers but its a hell of a start and i believe it will stand up to whatever weight we throw at it. I love aluminum. I will post pics in a little stay tuned.

Wonder what a normal weight is for one of these things.

Great start on your sled. As for weight, anywhere from 15-40 lbs. Some of the purpose-built trucks can pull 60+ lbs. easily.

The one I built was around 12lbs, with no weight. Add a few 5-10lbs and it was a tough pull for 1.9 type trucks.

I was going to use those tires for another build, how is the foam compound. Can you set them next to another 1.9 tire for a comparison picture for me? Please?

She is gonna be heavy. I need to do some lightening before its done. I did get the weight block today. Got to build the carriage nect for the weights to ride on. The tires are actually 2.2. They are pretty hard and do not come with foams. From Tamiya for the bruiser and blackfoot

Got the carriage started. Ball bearing rollers. Weight block will bolt down to it. It will have a pin out the bottom to engage the chain and maybe a lock for when it reaches the top. Need to order the sprockets so i can figure all that stuff out.
