Default Going Back To Plastic Wheels.

Going back to plastic wheels, I lost faith in Aluminum Bead-Lock wheels because I mostly use Pro-Line tires.
And most aluminum wheels don't like pro-line tires on them mostly Gear Head wheels.
Not ditching on Gear Head wheels thay may work well with other brands or tires ???
I had to mount and re-mount the pro-line tires at least ten time per wheel for them to seat right.
So going back with Pro-Line FaultLine 2.2" Black/Black Bead-Loc 6 Lug Wheels.
With Vanquish Products SLW Hex Hubs .350 & Locked Up RC Scale Acorn Wheel Studs
I had them on my 1:10th scale scaler before and they worked out grate with out any problems at all.
But stuiped me had to sell them to buy nice shinny Aluminum wheels that I always regretted.
The Pro-Line FaultLine's look just as good as any aluminum wheel out there & just as durable.
I run with the low profile 2.2 Pro-Line Flat Irons thay work the best of how my truck is setup.
There as tall as most 1.9 tires out there now but a little wider for more stability.

Funny thing, I went exactly the OTHER way, ProLine to GearHead and SSD. And I’ve had no issues since.

If you can't mount Proline tires to Gear Head wheels you're absolutely doing something wrong.

And 98% of all Proline tires will work on any beadlock wheels with patience. The bead issue is another example of internet overhype.

That’s exactly why SSD sells two different beadlock centers.... Blue for ProLine , Black for all others.

You need to scrub the mold release off of proline tires with acetone and they seat perfectly every time. If you don't clean them first you're pretty much guaranteed to have to remount them at least once

I'm also thinking about switching to plastic rims on a 2.2 rig, does anyone have experience with the Axial Method IFD 2.2 wheels?

Thanks,

I've run the same combo on my CR01 for years - never given me any trouble.
