So some years ago when I was still super heavy into RC I was working on a scaler. Based off a dodge ram HPI body and my Bigpig of a truck. Fast forward like 4 years now and all I've got done was bending up the frame one cold ass winters night in upstate NY in my storage unit. So my intent here is all looks form and function are in the back seat. Also my budget is very small as a challenge to not have to purchase much more and if I do I'd like to on the very cheap. Using a losi/castle 1415 motor and esc, traxxas summit trans, axial scx10 axles, hand bent frame, 3D printed parts, harvest the servo from my SCT and what ever I have laying around. Rear leafs with shocks and front short arm 4 link with track bar servo mounted to the frame etc are my plans. On to the current mess lots of pics I like pics. Finally ordered some leaf springs for it. Been waiting on getting them so I can set the rear to start designing the front 4 link.

Thanks Poormanrc this is a long term build. Im just not in a hurry to get it done as I want everything to be done nicely and when I have time to do it. I have 1 dirtbike that is my main focus to rebuild then two motorcycles an 83 honda cb650 and a 8~ suzuki 650 tempter. I couldn't care less how it handles because Bigpig off road it was not very good. This is all about the fun of the build and a homage to Bigpig. I see you were in the Air Force I was Army thank you for your service.

Thank you for YOUR Service also! I can appreciate your concept. You've got a set goal, and are in no hurry to get there. I have no doubt it's going to be exactly what you're imagining - with a few changes along the line!! That's the fun of making something from basically nothing!! It looks cool, and I do want to see what you end up with. ....... You're all of a sudden making me miss my 74 CB750K, and 77 GL1000. In fact, I haven't been on a bike in over 16 years!!! I might just have to fix that. |

Looks like ill have to custom design and 3d print some mounting for this so I can move the springs in and have a shock mount for inboard shocks. 20180220_223914 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr |

Getting to the final product save finishing by hand. Took 1mm off the length of the long flat and added 1mm bump to support it on the axle. Think next deal I will fill in that gap in the last pic and maybe knock off the leading edge some. Dont need that much surface hanging out there. 20180221_220632 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180221_220709 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180221_220720 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180221_221549 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr |

IIRC they are earlier scx10 I bought them like 4 years ago. I took mine in aon a trade been happy with this trade. Traded a HPI super SC for it some filament and some cash. SO here is a mock up of location for the leafs I think this is the ideal locations for looks. 20180223_220833 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr |

Looks GOOD!! I really like the multiple holes in the rear Shackles. That isn't done very often in Scale...... and represents what would be your basic Pep Boys Lift Kit. That's a nice touch!

Didn't go to work today wasn't feeling good. After I woke up at 130~ I felt better. So I worked on lilpig. The front links wont stay that way. It's what I had to do to make it all fit with what I have on hand. I'd like to pull the axle back about 5mm so the wheel is centered. But all in all it is coming along. 20180227_214159 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180227_214207 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180227_214220 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180227_214230 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180227_214237 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 20180227_214310 by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr |

I don't know Bud............... I don't think that Motor is nearly big enough. Maybe you can borrow one from the Washing Machine - or the Garbage Disposal !!! If nothing else, this will be quite a Stump Puller. Seriously, looking good. I'm glad you cared enough to make sure the Axles lined up with the Wheelwells and Shock Towers. The smaller things make the biggest difference!! Hope you feel better! |

Well I original wanted a castle MM 1/8 scale but I remembered its a traxxas trans lol. I do have a onix 1/8 system but that is more likely to make it into my revo. I also have a 1/5 scale brushless system for my boat talk about a motor, bout the same size as a pop can. Thanks I do feel better now. I hate seeing bodies that dont sit right. I would be a total hack if I didnt even try to line anything up lol. Its funny you mentioned stump puller four years ago I had to rip my old flat bed trailer out of a pile of snow. I had to use 90 feel of tow strap. It was 60 feet into that mess and I only had 30 feet of ice to work with till I got it popped out ontop. 1912030_10203233938947165_612689822_n by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 1654235_10203233945627332_765620088_n by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr 1653825_10203233945947340_91594866_n by Matthew Troiano, on Flickr |
