Only 379.99, I was expecting more like 599.99 . that's a good price , I know little to nothing about rc4wd, but seems like a good price ! I'd buy it if I had the money !

You bring up a good point. Why is this so cheap in RC4WD terms?

It looks like a TF2 LWB with links instead of leaf springs and a fugly Chord (Chinese Ford) Lexan body with the mall crawler bling bumper.

The big price difference I see in this over the rest of their rtf is a lexan body vs hard body. If it came with a hard body the price would be $599. Imho

The 12.6" wheelbase seems odd, it seems like that will make body choice limited or you'll need to change the wheelbase.

This would look 10x better with some kind of molded front bumper instead of that chrome abomination, and just a flat color without the flames.

bumper to me looks like its part of the body, not an actual bumper, if so it would be easily trimmed and replaced with a prerunner style or something along those lines.

Exactly my point. Ditch the crappy body and build a nice Blazer or Bronco.

I see it as a easier-to-swallow entry-priced vehicle for them, just toss the extremely fugly body (just my opinion) and get exactly what you want.

Worst case scenario, you could trim the body (bumpers, etc) and paint a solid or two-tone color on the outside...

My son has been trying his hardest (he's 7 and has to pay for his own broken parts) to save up for a Trail Finder as his next crawler, but I'd been encouraging him to consider an MST or SCX10.2 mostly based on price... this one just brought the TF within reach. I'm tempted because it includes K44's instead of 'yota axles, convert it back to leafs and throw an Ascender K5 body on top and I'd be a happy man.

Why are you guys dogging on the body? It's not that bad looking. Have you seen some of the other lexan bodies out there??? The front bumper and grill look like a single molded part to me. Guessing its screwed on. Never seen chrome on a lexan body before...It also has the K44s which is cool.

RC4WD is out of my budget though. Glad to see something besides a Toyota out of them. Sick of seeing Toyota's. Sure they are cool, but there are many other trucks in this world.

But this seems like a nice truck to me.

Hey, it's certainly a personal preference - a body change is easy enough, however. I'll venture that the body resembles a show truck that NEVER sees dirt, and chrome paint for Lexan has been available for a long time... and the front end doesn't actually resemble a Ford, it's only a vague similarity.

Sure - if you look at other brands like Exceed or Redcat the body isn't too bad, but NOT compared to Vaterra, Axial, the Traxxas TRX-4, or all the other previous RC4WD bodies...

But again, i digress. Bodies are definitely a personal preference, that's why there's a relatively large market for them.

Oh yeah, the paint and the chrome are not very cool. I am referring to the body I guess. I personally don't like flames. Never have, even on hotrods. So that would not be my paint choice.

It would be cooler if it was a licensed body, but I'm sure that is costly. Dunno though.

It's not far off from a custom superduty. Obviously could use some work on the headlights for sure.

Yup, it'd look a million times better resprayed a solid color, or at least with subdued graphics - and, dare I say - black or body-color bumpers & grille surround?

Looks like it might have been inspired by Medic at RC Sparks...

You could always soak it in 16% Nitro methane fuel (use gloves) for 20 minutes, remove the ugliness with a smoker's toothbrush, and repaint. ;)

Here are some more pics clearly showing the front bumper is part of the body, rather than being attached to the frame as usual.

If you aren't digging the bro-tastic Faux-rd body, this is a direct fit for the wheelbase.

The pic has the truck stopped before the tires touched the water.....Poser! To be a show truck/trailer queen, you'll need to chrome or polish the axle housings and links first. Sarcasm and joking aside, the front of the truck is fine. Chop the bed and put a Proline service body on it, paint it matte black, white or red, put a hitch on it and you have a chase truck/tow rig. Silver lining in every cloud, right?
