| Servo winches.
Not sure if this should be in the electrics section or not, sorry if it is. I am considering buying a servo winch for my SCX10, I am having some trouble with bumper to winch to bodyshell compatiblity, in the end it's probably going to end up cost more than it's worth, so perhaps a tight fit bumper with a hidden winch is the way to go. But I wanted to see how some of you guys have mounted yours. Do you run a dummy winch on the front or no? Where exactly have you mounted the winch on the chassis? Mine would require moving my battery tray as I made one myself to go next to the servo (chassis mounted) Just looking for some ideas before paying out for a servo winch, but I have the chance of a Hitec 7950th including a micro ESC to control it, so I'm seriously considering it. Would appreciate some pictures/ideas of where/how to mount to make it lok decent please guys |

You can get just a fair lead for the front bumper and mount the servo winch anywhere it’ll fit. If need be run some tubing to the fair lead and snake the winchline through the tubing so it doesn’t get tangled up.

SCX frame or the like, a bumper and a winch? That's a scaler to me. |

That's fair enough, I'm happy to abide by the forum rules/guidelines I just don't classify it as one myself, not really enough details on it and I haven't tried to replicate a 1:1 lol. Would still like to see how some people have mounted their servo winches though. |

Most I've seen are mount like a cms. Right next to the steering servo on the chassis. Or on sliders with a tube running to the front like mentioned already.

I work better with visuals though, I have a couple of ideas myself, but it would be good to see the 'mechanics' of how people are mounting them, especially with how to secure the tube. If I have a 30kg+ servo, it'll need to be fair well secured down lol. |

Go look through some of the old CC-01 builds, the tubing guide for the winch line was the best way to add a winch into those vehicles. Lots of pics in those old build threads.
