|  best paint for clear body shell ?
I know Tamiya PS paint is very common and it has been around of many years ( at least 40 years I believe ). Just wondering if there are any other better paints now. I am asking this because I have recently bought a RGT crawler RTR version and the paint they used is less rubbery than Tamiya PS. I have tried to scratch it with my finger nails and it gave me the feeling that it's quite tough. Just wondering what type of paint it is.

I've tried a bunch of different paints, and nothing sticks and stays on like Tamiya PS for me.

Agreed, PS sticks well, doesn’t flake after impact. Rubbery, might be on brush painted thick? I shot Parma for years, then it was gone! I eventually went to PS as Hemistorm taught thin layers with PS . Hang up and Drive |

You can't compare RTR paint to DIY on a clear body - they use a different process that helps achieve a very thin yet relatively durable coating.

^ that, completely different process and chemical and a lot of rtr are painted on the inside and the lexan is left as the clear coat. If you csn find One Shot paint, try that. It is a nasty sign paint that sticks to anything. |
