| Leaf spring shackle questions
Every leaf spring setup I see the front end the shackle is on the front side of the springs. Is there a reason why not on the rear like the early Chevy trucks use? Maybe something to do with pinion angle under full droop?

seems like every scale RC with leaves I've seen are that way. I could image for jeeps and fords and such that are factory but even the chevys I have seen seem to have the shackle in the front.Just curious if there is a build reason on a RC or something. I know why either works in the rear 1:1 just curious on the RCs is all.

pinion angle has some part to do with it, on a 1:1 street truck the will never see teh extreme twist and flex of a crawler setup truck, also with the shackles in the rear it give a more comfortable ride to the passenger. since most of the shock to the suspention will be moving front to back the spring will compress backwards and absorb it, with the shackle in the front the shock of an impact is transfered to the fixed end of the spring and then transfered to the chassis then to the driver |

right, I figured pinion angle had to be the reason but just wanted to see on a RC.
