| Getting a project started
Well i was not very happy with how my previous crawler came out and now i am looking for something different. 1.9 leaf spring trail rig using a k2-4 chassis. I need some basic answers to get my project set. I already have axles, electronics, driveshafts and a tranny. Although i would like to use a R2 for this. i have been motivated by the build of dieselfuel's highlift....well kinda.. i will use hi lift tires or narrowed clawdogs. I dont know what wheels yet. so my questions are as followed: -would i be able to use hi-lift leafs and or could i obtain leafs another way? -where can i buy shackles? -What are the first problems that may encounter while building this? -Where could i find an appropriate hard body. for example a f cruiser or defender. This will be my first 1.9 build. If you can please bare with the newb questions. |

You could use hi-lift leafs, but Diaz makes some pretty nice leafs that come with shackles. Look in the Vendors' section for them. As for the rest of your questions, I can't answer them.

not to be an *** or anything, but theres tons of leafed fj's on hilift tires w/ stockcar rims already. you could probably buy one readymade.

yea he could but that would defeat the purpose of the build, which is whats keeping this hobby going by not gettin RTR's goin everywhere you look. sounds like it will be a good build. id like to see how it turns out.

Building the truck is the best part. Especially when you are trying to make it as scale as possible. I hope this turns out right. Once i get the project up an moving i will post a build up. Another question- Where can i buy blocks to mount the leaf to the axle? Last edited by bemmermazda; 04-05-2007 at 02:19 PM. |
