| Scale antenna ?
Hey guys I am trying to finish up the clone and one of the major final details that need to be added is an antenna for the CB. I saw that DJ made one for his scout scaler out of music wire, I thought that looked great but I have no idea where to get music wire from and I leave for MOAB next Wednesday so I have limited amount of time if I have to order something  The next thing I thought of was doing a window mounted antenna. This is how the CB antenna is on my real Tacoma, looks like a cell phone antenna but longer. Now today I saw Janderson's, from Tamiya, high lift and he had a hummer antenna. It looks like the perfect scale antenna but I tried looking on tower and couldnt find one :( . Does anyone know a part #? If I go with an antenna like the hummer one, where should I mount it? Off of the rear bumper? I need some suggestions, lemme know guys -Mike |

Try at a music store. Maybe like a guitar string or something. Not sure what a Hammer antena is though.? I say mount it on a rear corner panel or on top of the bumper. |

mis read.. If you can pick up a guitar string or somthing from the music store just wrap it around a bolt real tight. Maybe a little heat if need be.?? that is where I would start anyway. I would even try like micheals craft or a craft store to see what they have available.

I bought a Deans Slimline antenna and it looks like a white fiberglass CB antenna, including a mount. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKX49&P=7 There are other manufacturers that make similar antennas. I bet your LHS will have them if they sell boats and planes. |

I've got two of the Hummer antennae's (Tamiya part number 5365001) but I won't sell em. If you get the Deans antennae it will look real good too.

i used the antenna for a Mugen 1/8th scale buggy...actually just the bottom....its like a spring that bells out at the bottom... i slid a piece of carbon fiber tube into it....the whip action is very nice...its hanging off of the receiver box in the pic.
