Hey

Can you give us a rough idea when you'll have another batch of 16t's ready.

Thanks"thumbsup"
Kieren

JohnRobHolmes 01-10-2011 11:20 AM

I will take a pic of the slotting once this batch is done. I just have a half dozen more to wind today, and previous orders will be shipping by Wednesday. Once the current and previous orders for the 16t are filled I will put 10 more 16t on the site, so another batch will start on Wednesday.

Aussie Nerd 01-10-2011 04:41 PM

Ok, I think the refresh button might be getting a workout:ror:

Thanks again"thumbsup"

These little guys have wheels speed.

JohnRobHolmes 01-16-2011 09:37 PM

Broke the bit slotting the batch, so the next batch is on hold for a few more days.

Aussie Nerd 01-16-2011 11:45 PM

I think I can wait since these are the only parts of got for my new build:ror:

Thanks for the update"thumbsup"
Kieren

Aussie Nerd 01-23-2011 10:07 PM

Any more update's John?

Thanks"thumbsup"
Kieren

JohnRobHolmes 01-24-2011 10:21 AM

I keep breaking bits, thats an update

I think the cross screws on my mill may be worn out. I slotted the first 10 arms no sweat, then I started getting chatter. I have tightened the gibs and the nut but haven't been able to totally get rid of the vibrations. After I get through the waterproof ESC backorders today I will put a few more hours on the mill and see if I can work through it. If I can't I will have to send arms out for milling.

Aussie Nerd 01-24-2011 05:23 PM

Does that mean mine are done, since I got the early two:ror: Sucks though if you are having trouble with your mill though, hopefully you can get it fixed"thumbsup"

Thanks
Kieren

JohnRobHolmes 01-24-2011 07:39 PM

The first ten were for team drivers and such before I put them on the site for sale, yours were not in that batch.

Aussie Nerd 01-24-2011 07:53 PM

Ok no worries, well hopefully you get things running right again though"thumbsup"

Working hard to get this sorted or find someone that can.

In the mean time I just got delivery of a little lot of 16t arms that were wound to my specs. Since I can't keep up with the winding and normal work myself, I can at least teach others how to do it and hire them for it.

Highlucks 01-25-2011 08:32 AM

How do you think a pair of 11T 454's would go in an XR10, I have a new one here. Is it best just to order one more or do you do matched pairs?

JohnRobHolmes 01-25-2011 08:52 AM

You can just order another one. Matching them based on RPMs is pretty easy. I don't have a dyno here that can run them anyway.

The 11t works very well on 2s lipo. 3s may overheat it too quickly unless you are doing very short runs.

Stormin2u 01-25-2011 08:56 AM

JRH will you be getting any 500s back in stock?

JohnRobHolmes 01-25-2011 09:00 AM

Nope, no more cans to be had. I am working on a suitable brushed replacement for them, as well as a brushless version.

1beatjeep 01-26-2011 01:35 PM

Hey. John
Any word on the 454 motor yet its going on two weeks now
Thanks

JRH, with those 16t, slotted or not slotted, do you have one available?

Mini 01-31-2011 09:40 AM

Any update when you will be able the slot the coms?

JohnRobHolmes 01-31-2011 09:41 AM

I sent a batch of arms off to a more professional machinist for slotting, since I haven't been able to get clean cuts on my machine. I have plenty of 16t wound up here though, they are on the site now.

1beatjeep, if you want a substitution or refund at any time for the order just let me know. I certainly didn't expect to have the slotting cost so much time on my behalf, or else I wouldn't have offered them until I had a big batch already done.

Just out of curiousity, how many amps would a 16T slotted 454 pull on 3 cells?? I am thinking of pairing these with a pair of Mamba Micro Max ESCs.

Aussie Nerd 02-02-2011 03:38 PM

I asked John this in the tech thread question, and I was told that either the mamba micro or micro sidewinder should be fine with the 16ts. However I wasn't told an amp draw as such.

That is enough of an answer....thanks much.

Thanks"thumbsup"

What would you rate the 454's as amp wise? Would they be around a 25-30 amp motor? From what I can gather the micro sidewinder is 25, b1r is 30 and the mamba micro is 35.

Thanks"thumbsup"

There is all the posts, however JRH might have more to add for you"thumbsup"

Yep....I found most of those posts before posting here. I just was looking for some sort of confirmation that the 454 16TS will work with Mamba Micro Pros. I have no complaints about my current motors, but am looking to shave more weight from my Bully V1 Rig.

Aussie Nerd 02-02-2011 03:47 PM

Actually I don't know if that's on 3s or 2s? JRH could you please clarify that?

Thanks"thumbsup"
Kieren

3s.

Yeah I wonder too- ordered a 454 slotted fm the website.

Thanks

JohnRobHolmes 02-09-2011 07:01 AM

Just sent a email to the machinist that I sent em off to. He got caught up in the snow storm like I did and it put him a bit behind too.

Ty 02-09-2011 02:49 PM

Hey john, I just got my 16 turn motors and wanted to know if they come timed at zero. I am guessing that the cans are from some 11 turns right? Thanks TY.
