I must have forgotten to change the turn written on the motor, eh? They are indeed timed at zero when you get them. Odd spot for zero, isn't it.

They have 11 turn stickers ok the cans. The brushes are in the center of the large window. Should they be somewhere different than the other 454 pullers I have.

500 Puller

John -
I have a pair of 500 Pullers 12 t and they run hot on 3S.
Now I can buy a pair of 500 - 14 t (old stock).
Is it possible to run the 14 t with 3S without over heating?
How many kv?

JohnRobHolmes 02-10-2011 12:43 PM

I don't remember the KV of them, but it will run cooler than your current motors.

I was told that there coming in this last week.Thats all John told me.

JohnRobHolmes 02-20-2011 09:43 AM

They should have, but I just got confirmation that they will be shipping out on monday for sure. I don't like that at all, I was told they would be shipping out early this past week.

My apologies on the long wait for the slotting. At least it will be well worth it for these little guys.

Aussie Nerd 02-20-2011 03:29 PM

Well it will still be a good month atleast before I can use them, but just wondering where they are at.

Thanks again"thumbsup"

tarmo120 02-22-2011 01:56 PM

I'd like to buy one of those Cobalt Puller motors 10t from the 500 series. Do you have some and how much is the shipping to Estonia?

JohnRobHolmes 02-22-2011 02:40 PM

500's are out of stock and will not be made again in the current form.

tarmo120 02-23-2011 06:57 AM

In that case, is there something similar to the Puller 500s?
Or is something coming soon?

Thanks

Tarmo

JohnRobHolmes 02-23-2011 07:05 AM

There is nothing quite like them at the moment. I am working on a brushless replacement, but have not found a suitable brushed replacement.

Bukwylde 02-24-2011 03:36 PM

Hi, I tried to find this info on my own but was unsuccesful. I'm considering one of your cobalt puller 500's from a third party (used) but have 2 questions. First, do I need an adapter plate to mount the 500 where a 540 should be? Second, are the parts still available to service the 500s? Thanks!

JohnRobHolmes 02-24-2011 04:13 PM

I have brushes and springs for the 500, but no armatures.

You will need the adapter plate to mount it like a 540.

big_boss 02-25-2011 01:29 AM

hey John Rob
What's going on with your site ?
I tried it last night (my time zone) & this morning but nada...

JohnRobHolmes 02-25-2011 07:26 AM

works fine for me. I will go look at the server logs.

big_boss 02-25-2011 02:06 PM

Tried it now , it's fine.

JohnRobHolmes 02-25-2011 03:27 PM

Nothing showed up funny on my server stats, it may have been related to your ISP.

moggi-samuli 02-26-2011 09:35 AM

Hello John

Can you tell me the weight for 454 cobalt puller 16t? Thanks.

csagaz 02-27-2011 12:22 AM

If there is a list forming for these guys, would it be possible to be marked down for a pair of the 16T Slotted? Or even PayPal in advance?

JohnRobHolmes 02-28-2011 07:59 PM

I will need to get another batch done. I would assume it will take about 2 to 3 weeks to complete, and I am not fond of taking money up front. I can give you a heads up when I get them done.

I completely understand the not "holding money" thing. I do my sales the same way. (I am a tiny vendor, but I know that it is safer/easier to do business this way) If you can give me a "heads up" when some are available, that would be very cool. Thanks much.

Thanks John got mine today"thumbsup"

Will the 14t 454 handel 3s ? Wish I would have found this thread before I posted in general.

JohnRobHolmes 03-14-2011 06:32 AM

It will handle 3s, just gets a bit warm depending on how you drive it. The 11t gets really hot on 3s, and the 16t rides pretty cool.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but...

would the 14t 454 be a good choice for a Honcho? The AE-2 esc can be programmed via castle link and has manual lipo cutoffs for 2-6s. I'm looking for something with a good bit of wheelspeed...bash/mud/trail truck.

JohnRobHolmes 03-24-2011 06:28 AM

The 454 won't have much mass to take a lot of wheelspeed. In a honcho I am afraid it would overheat unless it was geared very slow. A 540 or 550 size motor would be a better choice.

Im running a losi MOA and I have a set of Integy Lathes , and a set of your 454 pullers in 14t. I have 3s and 4s batteries. The 35t are just getting me by on 3s, not enough grunt for gap's and bumping. Will your pullers on 3s be comparable to the 35t on 3s or better? Can I run your 454 on 4s? Im sorry for all the questions but I have a set of unmolested pullers and I dont want to burn them up. I have no problem with the shortend lifespan of the lathes on 4s. But would rather sell the pullers than cook em trying out stupid stuff. I will be running a fairly light rig at 4.5-5 lbs. 12oz W/F/T. 14/13 pinion with the blc regear. Thanks in advance John.

JohnRobHolmes 03-24-2011 07:29 AM

I don't have enough experience with the losi MOA and puller to really give a good recommendation. I can say that the 16t won't be happy on 4s. I would recommend running your machine wound 35t motors on 4s and see how it does for you.

camobob 03-24-2011 07:35 AM

Thank's for the honest answer. You're a pretty stand up guy. I will be saving up for some of your handwounds soon."thumbsup"

JohnRobHolmes 03-24-2011 07:51 AM

No problem, I try to keep the BS at the farm

My concern with the losi is the amount of work needed to drive the gears. My gut tells me the little motors would just heat up too much.

xirtic 03-28-2011 08:34 PM

Received a pair of 454 16T's today, and just had to put them on the Bully. All I can say is that these are pretty impressive. The low speed control is better than I expected, the wheel speed is surprising, and the drag brake is incredible. I can see how these could over-heat in a heavy truck...but in this lighter 5# rig, they definitely feel pretty good. Thanks John.

1beatjeep 03-28-2011 09:44 PM

About how long can these usually go before they need to be serviced I have about 20 packs through them so far

Thanks

jpboy 03-29-2011 08:15 AM

When will slotting be available again I would like to get a set.
Thanks,
Louis

Waiting Dragon 04-10-2011 07:35 PM

Do you have any pullers left in stock? I would like to try a set on my Berg!
