I had something similar on my front axle but I removed it after I found that it used to catch on the rocks. Do you find that it kind of shovels itself under the rocks/ledges? I took mine off after I decided that the diff cases can take a beating and they are also pretty cheap and easy to replace.

I dont mind if anybody copies. Its mounted to the back of the diff with a 90 deg. aluminium bracket i also made. I saw something like this for the ax10 so i figured it would work on his WK. If you guys want i can post more pics of it off the truck so you can get a better look.

the diff skid looks great, but it would seem to take away valuable ground clearance.
