| Aluminum center LW steering bellcrank?
Finally finishing another project! Anybody used Team STRC Aluminum center LW steering bellcrank? http://www.teamstrc.com/ebproductdet...mainid=8&id=82 or..... Integy Steering Lever: T8105SILVER or T8105PURPLE http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSTG7&P=V I'm finishing a basher build using HPI's Crawler Conversion Kit and this piece looks kinda weak so thinkin about replacing it now. I'm setting the steering up with the HPI setup since it's a basher and I don't want the servo on the axle. Suggestions for this and/or other parts that would be good to upgrade now? |

I had the strc on mine and it worked ok. I also had the aluminum 3 link mount and 90 degree steering arm (http://www.integy.com/cgi-bin/webc.c...39&p_catid=114 ) on the axle and it did ok. But i really like the steering on the axle better. And these also http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/shop/ind...roducts_id=856 Last edited by rottenbelly; 12-25-2008 at 04:41 PM. |

http://www.eastendmachining.com/whkicemostse.html They can be had for a few dollars cheaper on ebay. I run these on front and back of my WK, and love em.

Rottenbelly, thanks I saw those too. Just not sure what is going to break since I only ran a couple batttery packs through it before I tore it apart. TYZWK, thanks hadn't seen that version of the center axle mount, cleanest one I've seen. Since it is not a crawler, I'm trying to keep it more scale? looking and really don't want to go that route unless I have to. Back when I was making this a crawler with Reign chassis droop only setup I made a sweet low CG axle mount that puts the servo just above the axle on the right side, I'll have to take a pic and post it up. It mounts on two aluminum brackets, one of them bolts to the right knuckle area and the other bolts to the stock upper link mount and the steering pivot mount. |

I have used the Integy unit and it's given me no problems on my 9+lb. scaler. |

Kinda hard to see in these pics.........but the left bracket has one buttonhead screw going through the stock upper link bracket & the Tamiya piece used for the two upper links and another buttonhead screw going into the stock steering bellcrank mount bracket. The right bracket has one buttonhead screw going through the stock upper axle knuckle with a washer and locknut underneath (next to the stub axle and inner axle)....the bracket is cut and filed to final size so that it keys into the knuckle area between the two raised ribs, so that the screw only holds it in place......the knuckle and bracket self-align! Sweet, that's an endorsement! Pic of your full steering setup? Last edited by Natedog; 12-26-2008 at 09:58 PM.
