I run a sidewinder 5700kv motor in my king and was wondering if anyone has the steel ones and if so. how are they?

Were you running grease or some kind of oil on your gears? That's the only way Aluminum gears will hold very long.

Sorry my driving skills aren't up to your standards KID. How many wheely kings do you know of that can even leave the ground? 11mph out of the box. mine does 40mph its taking a lil to get used to.

P.S. that was a torture run by the way. I took it apart earlier that day for some maintenance and noticed my tranny had about one run left on em. So I was being a lil extra rough to finish em off. Mission accomplished.

Hope it is not too late to reply to post.

I purchased a set of steel transmission gears:

It is used for high speed runs (Wheely King with Stampede VXL motor/ESC).

The major issue I am having is the center drive shaft gear is too short on one side. The stock center drive shaft or HPI upgrade shaft won't allow putting a screw pin through the shaft.

Otherwise it looks to be pretty durable.
