Default Heavy Duty diff gears and axial lockers?

I think I got that figured! But my next question is, how should I shim the ring and pinion? How tight?

Not too tight. It is a trial and error tune you got going there. I ended up with two thin shims in mines. Its been a while, so I for got the # of the shim.
