Default WK axles w/axial tranny

I am rebuilding my WK using an Axial chasis and tranny. How should I get the drivelines to mate? My WK was already stretched so I have the Traxxas 4951 drivelines with the stock yokes. Someone told me I needed the Traxxas 4628x yokes for this tranny so I bought them. But they are much smaller than then the drivelines. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not just looking for the cheapest solution, but the best/strongest solution.

Thanks,
Ryan

They make output shaft adaptors to fit the axial trans that bush up to the WK axle output size.

PN 4927X is the trans output from the Maxx. It fits a 6mm shaft. You can use it on the WK axle end of the driveshaft and I BELIEVE the 4928X is the Maxx axle shaft yoke that fits a 5mm shaft...which you could use at the Axial trans end. These two yokes are the same size and fit the 4951X & 4949X half shafts...they just fit the two different output shaft sizes.

thanks for the advise. I ordered the 5mm to 6mm adapters fron TCS. Hopefully I can get this thing back together by Memorial Day.

Just be aware that the stock axial spur gear will hit the e-maxx sized yokes. I would either switch your pinion to a 5mm shaft. Or get 6mm extended outputs for the axial transmission.

Could also do this.....(but it sounded like he wanted a more simplified install)

This gives you the smallest yoke at the trans end to run a larger spur...but has the bigger yoke at the other end for the axle. This is the one I used on my Black Widow build before I went to the CDW 6mm extended output.

Well I also had a set of 1951 drivelines that have the smaller ends to fit the 4628x yokes. But the splines (for lack of a better term) on 2 sides were to narrow. I spent some time with an exacto knife and a file and widened the splines. So now this is what I have and seems to work pretty good:

From tranny output = 4628x metal yoke, then the male half of a 1951 Traxxas driveline, slipped into the female half of a 4951 Traxxas driveline, then the stock WK yoke at the pinion shaft.
