Default Crawler King Electronics + Upgrade

Show of hand... Who else is disappointed with the electronics that come with the crawler king? I got my crawler in today and was playing with it with the stock setup to see how it was before I go on the modding spree. I have a number of parts from eastendmachining.com on order and should be here (In Afghanistan) any time now.
Parts to modded in:

Main Items
Rock Crucher Crawler Chassis
Axial Stering Servo Mount
4 link kit
Servo/battery Axial Mount
Heavy Duty Final Gear Set
as well as other replacement stonger links

I also have an 85t motor and reduction gear set to install.

I want to upgrade the electronics because I have had a devil of a time with the way the ESC goes into reverse as well as the speed controls is not variable.

What is a good ESC that will work with the 85t motor and stock motor? I am also looking at upgrading the transmitter to THIS Airtronics 4 channel remote. This way I have the option of more "Mods" like the Plowking Which is freaking AWSOME!!!

I was definately very dissapointed with the whole steering setup other than that the slipper gear started clicking as soon as I ran it for the first time. You would think that HPI would notice the crappy steering design and come up with something better.

BTW Rich how do you like the rock crusher chassis and 4 link setup? How much torque twist did that setup eliminate? What shock setup are you running with it?
