| Crawler king to trail ideas?
I have just purchased and recieved a crawler king. I want to use this for trailing. I understand that its not scale but i would like to get it closer. My thoughts are that its too tall and too much articulation for trails. Any ideas on how i can reduce body height (suspension?) and reduce articulation ? |

To lower ride height, put fuel tubing inside the shocks so they can't extend as far. Articulation shouldn't be a problem unless you install your servo on the exle then the body starts to bump the servo on deep bends. Too much articulation is not a bad thing even on the trails. Stiffen the right rear and front left springs to minimize torque twist and water proof the hell out of it--radio, servo, esc etc. If you are on trails you'd have to be careful not to get wet.

I installed E-Maxx shocks that are a little on the stiff side with very little TT.

any suggestions on a spring between the soft stockers and the Emaxx ones? I switched over to the Emaxx but there just a bit on the stiff side. Wonder if i could do a heavier weight oil and the stock springs, well guess i have some searching to do |

I went with the axle mounted servo, and put the battery in the rear. I used 4 rear Rustler shocks all around, with 15w oil, and cut down the HPI springs to Traxxas length. Very happy with the results.

wheely king/crawler king shocks are 117mm stock, you can order shocks in any size you want thus lower the overall vehicle ride height. or you can put heavier weight shock oil in to stiffen ride, or a variety of spring to stiffen ride. your call, many options here
