| I keep breaking the front driveshafts. why?
Just about every other time I take my WK out I break the dog bone completely of the driveshaft and I just keep replacing them. Is there a better solution for this. The WK is locked in the front, but everything else is pretty much stock. Thanks |

Try to loosen the screws on the knuckles a lil bit. I broke a dogbone cuz that screw was just too tight and the pin of the head caught and snapped the dogbone. Good luck

I had the same problem until I took the front locker out. Lasted a little longer but still broke, I'm running a brushlees 8.5 on 2s lipo. I modded some HPI Blitz cvd's and, knock on wood, haven't had problems yet. Only ran 3 times, though. Someone here used a Blitz axle w/losi shafts. |

Did you just cut the end of the drive shaft off on the Blitz. I just broke one running the thing in my drive way under no load at all. Thanks

welcome to the wonderful world of wheely king axles! look at the rcp cvd thread for ideas. if you keep buying stock dogs you will keep breaking them, unless you slip it. i use mgt cva's and haven't had any problems yet. |

This is the other problem for this mod, need a spacer or new bearing to fit the axle end. I think I'll try the MGT cvd mod next time.

| that's some good work. thought of doing somthing like that but felt that the shaft were too tiny. mgt shafts are big, you will need bigger bearings and it requires a lot of grinding and fitting. i feel it is worth it though.

| A lot of work but, I think the mgt's will most definitely be worth the trouble. |

sounds like its time for you to install a Blitz slipper clutch. Do a search it will pop right up and it is a super easy mod to do. I installed one on mine and I have yet to break a dog bone and I was breaking them everytime I played with the WK. Also I haven't measured them yet but the Losi Comp Crawler axle shaft looks like it could work with some modding....I will have to look at these more to determine that.

Thanks for all the post. I'll look in the Blitz slipper clutch. I've got to come up with a bette solution. What does the slipper clutch do? Last edited by hambyl88; 10-16-2010 at 09:51 AM. |

Is the bearing size for the Blitz CVD listed somewhere? If not, maybe RuST808 could tell me the diameter of the axle so I can search for a bearing that will prolly be $$$ Thanks |

The slipper clutch will allow you to adjust the amount of torque/power going to your axles. I have 6" tall tires and a Gear Reduction Unit and super low pinion/spur combo. So my WK is super torquey, not fast but it could climb straight up....well I began breaking dog bones left and right. So I installed the Blitz slipper clutch and it allowed me to have a little bit of slip in the drivetrain right before the dog bone breaks. I think SkullKing was the one that posted on how to do it. Well worth the few bucks you will spend on it.
