| Hello, my ESC fried...
Got my wheely king for christmas and took it for a spin saturday morning. After 30 minutes of use i lost forward. I took it through a little snow but nothing radical(less than 1"). I suppose i got water inside, because when i turned it off it when poof (heard a little crackle). So, whats a good water proof ESC for say under $70. I seen traxxus has a few but would they be compatible? The search and my computer arent getting along right now (freezes my PC) or id search. After i get that replaced im gunna pack what i can with di-electric grease and let it rip. I already took out the rear brace on the links for more articulation and i like it a lot, even so if i only have reverse. Plan to make a budget crawler/basher and maybe lock it but nothing drastic until stuff breaks hope this stuff isnt like real wheelin...cuz that gets expensive! |

its a common problem, either the esc or the battery usually catches fire first, or at least from my experience. the traxxas esc is great for bashing/general crawling and easy to come by used, but if you want to get more into crawling you might want to invest a little more and get an esc with a drag brake |

Traxxas XL-5 blue WP esc, for crawling add the HPI gear reduction unit.

Sometimes its better to just buy real lockers, and a Traxxas WP servo.
