| Aftermarket metal spur gear?
well it finally happed, i murderd the plastic trans gears and the carbon spur gear the other day. i had a feeling with the locked trans and the HPI GRU it wouldnt take long. I ordered the CKRC alumimum gearset for the trans today, but im debating about the spur gear. should i keep it the carbon one to act as a "weak link"? or should i step up to a metal one? opinions? |

Well as a previous owner of an insanely mad torque WK I know what you mean... Firstly I blew the gears right out the gearbox, 2nd I bent and busted 3 of the 4 RC4WD Stainless Steel dogbones... Now I would go with the new steel spur, but then you really need to have a slow throttle finger. PM me if you want a aftermarket steel one. I still have one left from the RC4WD steel gears. |

leave the spur plastic, you really want to damage high dollar metal gears?

Yeah, leave the spur gear plastic. With proper mesh it will outlive the aluminum gears. Even if it doesn't, it is alot cheaper and easier to replace.

im not worried about the gears now, i think the plastic driveshafts will be the "weak-link" from now on. | |
