The wheel base was a little long so I did some adjusting and threw a ugly practice body on It till I get a new one. It's setup in 60/40 right now I'll see how I like that before I make some high clearance links. |

Took my rear axle apart to find this Looks like my rear case was flexing and causing the rcp hd ring and pinions to slip leaving a layer of copper flakes haha but there is still plenty of teeth left on the gears. |

Finished my axles all I need are some XVD's to finish them. Found another body to hack up and this one is legal so it will have to do till I can get another. |

Got this running today i just got to get the dig servo set up. Has anyone tried xr knuckles and universals on their wk yet the front axles are almost the same width and the Knuckles just need a little shaved off to fit in the wk chubs.

Well I've been thinking about this for a wile now just didn't know how to do it so I just decided to say screw it and figure it out as I go: Yes those are xr10 knuckles, chubs, and cvd's on a wk axle that should help bring this thing back to compete with the axr10's out there. I didn't have to take too much off the outer edge of the axle there is plenty of plastic left but just to be safe I'm going to reinforce it with epoxy on the inside. With this set up u can't run the bearing on the end of the axle because of the screws holding the chub on but I don't think that will be a problem. |

Your going to love it Did you just grind the housing down or did you remove some of the spline from inside the chub also? Did you leave it long so you can run the full length axles?

I took just enough out of the chub to smooth the splines out. That left me with enough plastic on the axle to keep the strength. I'm going to put some epoxy inside the axle halves to give it a little extra strength.

Well I had to put the xr cub and Knuckle mod on the back burner I have the first okrcrc comp of 2012 I need to get this ready for so I modded some stock knuckles to work with the shortened xr cvd's. Sorry for the crappy pics the light in my house sucks. This mod was fairly easy to do I had to cut the end of the axle off that holds the bearing then used a body reamer to ream out the end of the axle just enough to press a bearing in. I had to trim the end off the knuckle as well and ream it out to accept the end bearing. It's still the same track width despite the cuts. I did quite a bit of trimming on the Knuckle to get more steering out of it still needs a little bit more and eventually I will mod my aluminum knuckles but I didn't want to screw them up wile I was trying to figure out how I was going to do this. I will do the other side tomorrow I need some new cutoff wheels. |
