Default motor question

I'm looking to get myself a lower turn motor for the WK - ESC says it will take a 15t - thinking about getting the firebolt motor (can pick one up for like $17) to mess around with. How quick am I going to go through gears if I run a 15t in the WK? Should I go with a 20t instead? Right now I'm more into bashing/quick trail driving than crawling...saving up some cash to get the crawler kit for the WK though.

A 15 t motor will be fast but have next to nothing for torque. I ran a traxxas 20 t 550 for a while, it had a good balance between speed and torque. Then I upgraded to 8 cells, huge differance both in speed and torque.

Yep. That's a sweet motor especially on 3s . I use it and a 12t Titan on my honcho and wraith. Working on a new frame so I can use it on my Crawler king.

It will fit the CK if you grind the top of the transmission and dremmel out the motor plate.

Or pop the sleve off, depends on gearing too.

My trans is clocked 90 degrees and the motor hangs over the side of my custom frame. I'm working on a solid steel frame.

I have the 20t in my wheely king and bash and crawl and I love that you can go slow but pick up speed if you need it. If you dont want tons of speed but enough torgue and slow enough to crawl I would go with the 20t motor.
