Default WK Trans Mod1 Gears - How-To

Just finished getting parts together for my WK trans and got it together tonight.

Parts needed:
Mod1 5mm bore 15t pinion
Mod1 5mm bore 22t pinion
5mm drill bit, or rod

Parts for mod.
(Note: i used a #8 drill bit, 5.05mm and shaved it down to fit, go the extra length and find a 5mm LOL)

Tear down trans. You might be able to see, i already repaired the clicker gears once, moved the weak spot to the top plastic gear lol.

15t mod1 on the stock top shaft, (i have it on backwards here, sorry) grind a flat spot for the set screw to seat good and tight.

Still on backwards :o

Use the old stripped top gear as a spacer, so the bearing doesnt back out of the case.
For the center spacer, i used the old top spacer and cut it down to size, so that bearing doesnt back out of the case.
Center shaft, heres where that 5mm drill bit comes in, cut the shank to length and remove the plastic reducers for the stock small shaft.

All fits dandy, disassemble again, thread lock setscrews and re-install.

Lube it good, Slap the cover back on and re-install in truck. Beat the snot out of it grinning knowing it will take it.

Looks good. Two quick questions.

Are you using the stock plastic bottom gear?
Are you using any kind of a slipper?

Stock bottom gear.

Im actually using this as a t-case, so power comes straight from an emaxx 2 speed into the wk trans.

I ran it for a while today and it held up so far in a 20+lb truck.

Nice mod. Looks like a decent jump in strength for the buck.

Yeah its a pretty cheap mod, about $12 each for pinions, and $3 for the drill bit.
