I just put an Integy 55 turn lathe motor in and it seems fine so far. Nothing gets hot or has any glitches.

I ran the 55 turn motor with the stock ESC before I went brushless and it worked pretty good. The biggest problem is getting the gearing low enough for decent crawling.

I run 12/96, I think that the lowest you can get. The gear cover will not fit with this setup either. I am still on the stock motor, I may toss in my Mag Mayhem or get a 35T lathe.

I heard that a 15/96 gearing would work with everything stock. The inside of the transmision cover will need to be sanded down though.

Has anyone tried the gear reducer box from rc4wd? They have a 4:1 and a 2:1 that look like they would work.

Running the 55 turn motor on the stock ESC is actually less stress than running the stock motor (27 Turn). The lower numbers are what you have to worry about.

I have one with a 20 turn upgrade for these. same motor, ( Saturn ) just 20 turns. I'm pretty sure a 55 turn will do just fine. I plan on running the stock exc for a while on a crwler setup.
