| Cost run down? I'm interested in doing a 2.2 crawler buildup using WK axles. Has anyone done a complete cost run down on what the total price would be to purchase all the factory HPI parts to build up both axles? Or, would it just be cheaper to buy the complete RTR truck, swap everything out I don't want, and sell the leftovers? Thanks! |

Buy the 4wd RTR then you have everything you need to start with. |

I already have a 'Pede tranny, and a lot of Maxx drive train parts, that's why I wanted to just build up some axles. Getting the RTR truck would be easy, but I want to change so much on it. I wanted to test the waters and see if anyone had been down this road before.

And that is if you could actually locate all the parts in stock to make these axles.

the kit price is always cheaper than the replacement parts. That is how they make their money.

not to mention the stock ESC and radio gear is pretty descent.. im running the stock ESC through water on 8 cells and its still going strong ... IMO the "throw away" electronics make it worth the $$$4 JOe |

At the moment the axle parts are very hard to get, so its best to get the whole truck from Tower Hobbies, and save $25 with their instant savings. Could get the whole truck for $185 plus shipping.

Sounds like good advice, I'll be looking to get the RTR WK here soon. Anyone got a good line an where to get the new 4x4 version? I'd hate to order the RTR, get the older 2wd version, and be scrounging for parts like everyone else. Thanks All! |

Tower has it for $210, and there is a discount code on their home page for $25 off orders over $200, and you'll pay shipping. Ultimate Hobbies has it for $190, with free shipping. Works out to be about the same either way. I ordered mine from Tower. |

Thanks RCP, when I was shopping last week they weren't on the site yet. Guess I just missed it. If you want it quick, go with RCP for sure, I got my wheels and motor Friday after ordering late on Wednesday. |
