Default Putty in diffs makes a big diff.

Pun intended.

Got some poster putty at Dollar General and put some in the diff cases. It's easy to do. I made sure there was some grease in the diffs too.

On the trail it's definately better but it was already good.

On the slick rock it's a bigger improvement, there is little wheel slip, it just goes where you want it to with less drama.

On the hillside trails that have hard packed dirt, loose dirt and leaves, rock ledges and scale boulders the limited slip effect is just fantastic.

To date: swapped chassis ends, swapped tires side to side, put poster putty and grease in diffs.

Boy, the WK is a fantastic truck.

Next: stretch the wheelbase and install a 65T motor.

Life on the rocks is good!

Im new to the whole RC crawling thing. I got hooked watching videos on Youtube of the crawlers so i bought my self a WK. Just got a few questions. Putting the putty in the diffs doesnt put more strain on the rest of the drivetrain? How much should i put?

Guys...forget the poster putty, silly putty, hot glue, and cookie dough.

Just use JB Weld and be done with it.

I was one of the hard ones to convenience to go to the lockers. I used JB weld at first. After having the JB weld break loose 3 times I ordered the lockers. At $14.99 a set their a steel. Sorry aluminum!!!

i just last night tore my diffs apart after the hot glue broke down after a few months. I JB'ed them simply because i wanted to be up and running as soon as possible, but if i ever have another problem with them i will buy the lockers in a heartbeat....... moral of the story, buy the lockers

Well i must say jb does work well if done properly. I did it to my clod axles like a year ago and it has 2 55t motors. I beat the hell out of it on the rocks and i have yet to break the JB. However... I did recently strip gears in the front gearbox. So i bought some hardened steel gear set for both axles. What a difference the truck is a little slower but it dropped the CG and i never have to worry about breaking them!

I've got the Maximizers on Back Order through work for mine, so I'm still using silly putty for now.

I'm using the Maximizers. And of course brushless, and my front diff can't seem to hold up . However, I have yet to shim it...
