| Anybody have WK Spur Gears in stock?
Yup, damaged the 90T spur gear. Rats. Looking for a 90, 93 or 96T HPI Spur Gear. No joy so far. Tower and Ultimate Hobbies are out. Any ideas? Thanks Edit to add a caution. The Integy 65T motor I installed is slightly larger diameter than the stock 27T it replaced. The 65T bottomed on the transmission housing and would not let the spur and pinion teeth mesh as deeply as needed. That's what damaged the spur gear. The Integy motor is wrapped in paper and the paper overlaps with two thicknesses of paper...you guessed it...where the motor contacts the tranny. I ground the paper off the Integy 65T motor where it touches the trans and ground a bit off the tranny and now the spur and pinion mesh is good. When I put the Integy motor in I didn't pull the tranny out of the WK, like I should have. The tranny comes right out after removing six screws and you don't have to remove the drive shafts at either end. It was late and I was tired so I just put the motor in. There is a lesson here, I hope I learn it (Uh huh, sure.) Live and learn.........or not. Last edited by MikeSSS; 05-29-2007 at 08:48 AM. |

It doesn't HAVE to be a HPI gear. All these will work:(RRP ones are the best quality) http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD250&P=7 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEY29&P=7 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEY30&P=7 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEY31&P=7 |
