Default 55t question

can you use a 55t lathe motor in the stock setup.in more detail can i put a 55t lathe motor in my wheely king right out of the box without any modifications.thanks

Yes, you can put in a 55t lathe motor into a stock wk. You will likely have to solder the wires to the motor. The motor will need a gear put on it. Set the mesh of the gears like they describe in the wk manual and you will be good to go!

thanks yea im a desent with a sodering iron but i havent bout my wk yet and i just wanted to know what i should go ahead and buy with it.cause im looking into making it a capable crawler and just wanted to know if that motor would fit the stock set up for now.but i see in my future a nice tuber with extended linkages and drivetrain narrowed moab tiers and some beadlocks.

yup i put a 65 turn on mine when i bought mine.. the day i got my WK i got motor,gears,links,beadlocks,moabs,and hacked up the body...lol but i had a chonk of money to blow..

well here goes off the top of my head

65 turn motor 20$
gear 96 and 15 pinion 7$
traxass 102mm links x4 25$
axial beadlocks x4 60$
4x proline moabs 40$
and some misc. bolts and 3mm nuts 3-15$
hot glued the diffs

and mine went great then i turned it into

btw... my wk doesnt look like that at all nemore... lol look at the thread called "PROJECT NO NAME" thats what it is now..

what was the wheel base before u made it a tuber

not as bad... kreepy helped me out today and we found the problem so im gonna start there... but with the 102 links it was 10.5 inches i beleive

Blakeski when your WK was 10.5 did you have to modify the drive shafts or steering? I really like how it looked with the red rods.
