Default Green Rocker

I've had everything from a crappy stock based TLT crawler, to a stock based WK Scaler. Figured it's about time I do it right.

Carbon Fiber Xrc chassis
Rc4wd Black R2
Wheelyking Axles
Masher 2k's on traxxas Nitrosport (I think) Wheels
Stock shocks w/ droop suspension
Tower Pro 945mg (Choose it over the 995 for the torque)
might go 4ws w/ a hitec 645mg in the rear
HPI Bug body
Integy 55t Crawler motor

I am still waiting on parts from tower to get this thing rolling.
Shocks (I broke one of the shocks taking the axle off. Snapped right at the thread)
Rod ends
Body
Body posts

and when the cash comes

Losi Crawlers or Moab's on Axial Beadlocks w/ green rings

So here's what I have so far. Xrc chassis with the R2 Put in. Locked wheelyking axles, w/ steering links cover with KS stainless steel tubing (Stronger then brakeline). Axle mounted servo, thanks to harley for the template. Im probally going to bend the mount today. I hacked up the stock battery tray for this and mounted it so it floats above the front axle.

Pics sounds good?

Hows it look so far?

Mount looks good!

Your rear axle is upside down though, flip it and your pinion angle will get much better.

Looks clean so far!

What paint sticks to alluminum the best? I need to repaint my mount.

For aluminum I have gotten the best results using an etching primer, local paint shop carries it. My neighbor owns the place so he just gave me some in a baby food jar and I sprayed it with an aresol setup.

Ah. I'll see if I have any laying around. Could I use parma paint on the primer? I wanna paint the mount either black or the green the body will be.

Green is going to be on the body, and when I get the cash or axial's it's gonna be on the rings. I'm trying to keep the chassis and component black, as black and green look bad *** together. I'll probally do the steering link's in green tonight.

Im not really into the olive drab green. I was thinking more of a lime green (favorite color. black and lime green), so I'll probally go with parma Faspearl green.

to paint aluminum you should really use a conversion coating before you paint. acid etch it and then apply zinc. the zinc sticks to the acid etched aluminum and the paint sticks to the zinc.

alright. I've got a whole tube of silicone grease.

Think that 5 days will be enough time to complete this?

Well the chassis's done >_<. took a total of 2 hours. I've got the body I want to use. so we're good to go. I guess I like to build em quick? lol.

Pic's of the test run. I've got KS, 3/16th stainless steel (Extra beefy compared to brakline) covering the links.

Drove up this.
