Default WK trail scaler

I took the crappy pti axles off of this chassis and replaced everything with WK parts. needless to say, it works much much better now. well, i have stripped and re-assembled this chassis numerous times with these wk parts, this is about the 5th time. i want the motor low (where i have it) but i don't have enough of a gear reduction using the RC4wd 4:1 reduction kit, and running it strait to the wk transmission. i already have a light system that has yet to be installed on THIS variation, its in a receiver box, that will bolt on just like the receiver in the receiver box that is already on the chassis.
i thought i'd share what i've done already, as well as ask what to do about the gear reduction unit. is there a 5:1, or a 6:1 reduction like this 4:1 i already have?
i also considered using another reduction before the tranny, but that would look sloppy.
well, here are the pic's

I love how you used the WK battery box. Lets see some pics of it on the trail!!!

why don you just get a higher turn motor rather than using a reduction unit?

I don't recall seeing a chassis like that before, did you build it?

i just put on a 55t lathe motor, i'll see what it'll do powerwise. i do need that gear reduction i already have on there because im going directly from motor to input shaft (no pinion/spur)
I need to get more supplies from the lhs, like double sided tape, and the like. That chassis is my own custom design (it was meant for the pti transmission hence the 4 central holes, but the pti axles are complete garbage) cant go slow without a spool, and cant go fast and steer because of long dogbones.
im thinking of using a nitro rc tube cage as a body, and putting body panels on it to make it more like a vehicle. i have a gunmetal jeep body, a red juggy body, and a flat green HL body, but the hardbodies are too hard to mount, and i dont want to damage them, and im tired of the jeep body.

well i think my ESC is crap. i put a tazer 15t on it and it is not much better. i may have to go back to the stock pinion/spur deal. i had a 5.1:1, and a 5.4:1 reduction to the tranny from the stock way, which was pretty good, but this 4:1 is not enough, and with the lathe it doesn't have much of a difference from the 19t. i think the cause is friction in the drivetrain. i need some suggestions on how to get around this, i really like the motor up front deal.

my electronics get hot pretty fast, and the runtimes are much shorter, so it must be friction.

The only thing I could think of would be binding in the gear reduction unit.

i think i found the problem.
i took apart the 4:1 gear reduction that i got on rc4wd and found that the teeth were damaged. the pinion gear has its teeth squashed on one side, and the idler gear that it turns has damaged teeth too, they have been squeezed on one side, deforming the tooth.
im sure this is the problem. i dont know what would cause this, other than too much power. its impossible to screw up the gear mesh, because there is only one way to mount the thing, and they give you the pinion gear. i hope they replace this, its hardly seen any use.

i'll post pic's later, my bro has the camera.

the problem is you went to a faster motor the higher the # the better it will be for crawling like a 55t or a 65t

No, I don't think that is the problem.

Replace it with a GD600 or the new Integy gear reduction

Thats a really cool looking chassis you've made there. I like the use of traxxas tmaxx lower arms and uj's for suspension mounts. I also like how you've laid out the motor and battery box, but it may be worth reversing them to get more weight over the front wheels.

they look quite large,maybe 2 gd600's and i really need a 5:1 or 6:1.
also, i wanted to get the weight to the back so that there is less effort to get the front to ride up an obstacle, but not too much that it rolls back.
i've been changing the setup anyway recently. i made the chassis much wider, and tried some leaf springs, but they dont work too well. i keep getting different rates at front and rear, due to geometry differences.

well, i've gone the other way, if i cant have power, i'll have speed.
i bought a rc raven tube cage, and various other materials and stuck em together. i dont get much suspension travel as it is now, but im working on that.
it will have head lights, tail lights, and brake lights, an all will turn on with the 3rd channel.
well here are some pic's as it is now.
